Is HopeGives free to use?
Creating an account and campaigns is free. We operate on an optional T.I.P contribution from donors.
Who can use HopeGives?
Anyone can create an account. Campaign creators include missionaries with organizational oversight, churches, nonprofits, and denominations raising funds for faith-based causes.
Donations
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. A unique aspect of HopeGives is that we only have verified 501(c)(3) organizations and churches on our platform.
Can I get a refund on my donation?
Donations are generally non-refundable. For exceptional circumstances, contact support to discuss your situation.
How do I know my donation is secure?
We use PayPal and Stripe, industry-leading payment processors with bank-level encryption and fraud protection.
Campaigns
How long can my campaign run?
Campaigns can run for any duration. You can set an end date or leave it open-ended.
Can I edit my campaign after publishing?
Yes, you can update your campaign story, images, goal, and end date at any time.
What happens if I don't reach my goal?
HopeGives uses "keep what you raise" model. You keep all donations received regardless of whether you hit your goal.
Organizations
How do I register my church or nonprofit?
Search for your organization using our claim process. You'll need your EIN and proof of your authority to act for the organization.
How long does organization verification take?
Most verifications are completed within 1-3 business days.
Missionaries
How do I become a verified missionary?
Apply through your HopeGives dashboard by going to "become a verified missionary" to affiliate with your sending organization. They'll review and approve your application.
Can I fundraise without an organization?
No, you must be affiliated with a verified 501(c)(3) organization by either fundraising as a missionary or administrator of that organization. .
Payments
When will I receive my funds?
Payout timing depends on your settings (daily, weekly, or monthly) and payment processor requirements.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank payments through our payment partners.

Can I donate anonymously?
Yes, you can choose to hide your name from public display. The campaign owner will still see your information for thank-you purposes.
