Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is HopeGives? What’s the story behind it?
HopeGives is a new crowdfunding platform built specifically for AG global workers and ministries. It launches August 4, 2025, at General Council.
Pastor Troy Jones and his team created it with AG missions in mind, with this heart behind it: to lighten the load you carry by opening new doors for partnership and support. Even those serving in sensitive areas can use it.
At the end of the day, HopeGives exists to make sure no missionary walks alone.
2. What’s my first step?
Head to HopeGives.com and log in using the AG credentials option.
Under the Profile menu, choose Become a Verified Missionary. You’ll complete a short process to confirm your AG status, including letting us know if you serve in a sensitive area. HopeGives then verifies your status with AG.
3. When do I receive the funds?
Because HopeGives connects directly with AG Giving, funds show up just like your regular AG support.
- Processed through the same secure channels you already use
- Tracked and receipted for tax purposes
- Aligned with AG accountability standards
4. Where will I see those funds in my AG account?
All contributions received through a Hope Campaign are placed in your Class 56.
You can request to transfer funds from Class 56 to any work class or AG account using the normal AG process.
5. Can people support me monthly through this platform?
Yes. Each campaign includes an option for donors to give monthly.
This makes it easy to build long term, recurring support for your ministry.
6. Do I need training?
No. The platform is designed to be simple and intuitive.
If you want additional guidance, you can explore articles inside the HopeGives Help Center.
7. What will this cost me?
HopeGives does not take a cut or charge a platform fee.
The platform relies on voluntary TIPs (Together Impacting People) from donors who choose to support the mission of HopeGives.
AG still withholds the standard 7% deduction on donations made to your account.
8. Can missionaries in sensitive areas use this platform?
Yes. HopeGives offers privacy and security features to protect your identity while allowing you to raise support effectively.
9. How do I post a Hope Campaign?
Once verified, log in and click Start a Hope Campaign. Follow the straightforward setup steps.
After launch, HopeGives provides promo articles and training videos to help you share your campaign.
10. How do I promote a Hope Campaign?
We provide built in tools to help you share:
- Monthly Training
- Step by step training videos in the video library
11. Is HopeGives officially part of the Assemblies of God?
No. HopeGives is not operated by the AG, but it was built for AG missionaries and integrates directly with AG Giving.
Every donation is handled with the same accountability and transparency AG supporters expect. It is not meant to replace your sending church structure, but to provide an additional tool for targeted fundraising.
12. Can missionaries outside the AG use this platform?
Yes. While it was created as a resource for AG missionaries, the platform is open to other ministries who share the same heart for global missions.
13. What if I need further help?
Most questions can be answered in the Hope Docs.
